Virtual MyLAB
Virtual MyLab is a web-based platform that allows you to:
- Use the data in the catalogue to create the dashboards and reports using MicroStrategy (MSTR) Dossier features. MicroStrategy Dossier provides users various functionalities, including drag-and-drop functions, graphical displays and instant feedback.
- The user will be given a choice either to use the default variables of the dataset or request inaccessible variables, pending approval from DOSM’s Administrator
- The report and dashboard can be downloaded, saved and shared
- User are given the facility to save and edit their work within 30 days.
Quick guidelines to use Virtual MyLab
Step 1: View the data catalogue.
The data catalogue shows the available dataset based on subjects and topics. Therefore it helps users to find the preferred data
Step 2: Login/Sign Up to Virtual MyLab.
In order to process the dataset in Micro Strategy Dossier, user is required to login to the system.
Step 3: Select default variable of dataset or request non-default variable.
There are 3 containers each representing Subject, Topic, and Variable. user can find their desired variable based on the categorisation of each subject and topic. Users may click the process button after selecting the variable to create the report. Moreover, in the variable’s container user might find that some variable are dimmed. It means that the variable is inaccessible and the user may request the variable by clicking on the request variable button.
Step 4: Display MicroStrategy Dossier interface.
After the user clicks on the process button, the system will redirect the user to a new window tab of Micro Strategy. Besides, it is the best user experience to create the report in a big size of window.
Step 5: Create report and dashboard.
User can design their desired report. There are 2 panels, dimension and measure. Dimension is a field containing qualitative and categorical information. Whereas, measure is the number or quantitative information.
Step 6: Download, save and share.
Lastly, user can share, save and download the created report to their local computer.
