Actionable Analytics

Actionable Analytics (AA) is a platform that allows end-user to use the data in the catalogue to conduct analysis using either R Studio or SAS Enterprise Guide (EG). User will be given selection to choose either to use default variables of the dataset or requests inaccessible variables, which pending for approval from DOSM’s Administrator.

  • Public user require to book for a session at Intelligent Data Lounge (IDL) on usage for the R Studio or SAS Enterprise Guide (EG) which can be implemented at IDL’s venue only at selected date and time
  • For internal user, installation is available at the user’s selection by requesting through email to  itsupport@dosm.gov.my. It can be implemented at any time but is available only in DOSM’s network.

Quick guideline to use Actionable Analytics

Step 1: View the data catalog.

The data catalog shows the available dataset based on subjects and topics. Therefore it helps users to find the preferred data

Step 2: Login/Sign Up to Actionable Analytics (AA).

In order to analyst the dataset in IDL, the user is required to login to the system.

Step 3: Select default variable of dataset or request non-default variable.

There are 3 container each represent Subject, Topic, and Variable. user can find their desired variable based on categorization of each subject and topic. User may click process button after selecting the variable in order to see the instruction. Moreover, in variable’s container user might find that some variable are dimmed. It means that variable is inaccessible and user may request the variable by clicking on request variable button. 

Step 4: Display instruction to connect to the dataset.

After the user clicks on the process button, the system will display the instruction on how to process the dataset.

(To Public end-user)
Step 5: Book a session for Intelligent Data Lounge (IDL).
Step 6: Visit Intelligent Data Lounge (IDL) to perform the analysis using R Studio or SAS Enterprise Guide.

(To Internal end-user)
Step 5: Submit an email for the installation of the R Studio or SAS Enterprise Guide by emailing to bpm@dosm.gov.my
Step 6: Installation will be performed by DOSM.
Step 7: Save and download the output
