In November 2014, the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) started the Statistics Data Warehouse (StatsDW) Project Phase I, which serves as a local data hub. The development of StatsDW Phase I started in 2014 and ended on 31 December 2015. The main modules developed in StatsDW Phase I are Visualization, Time Series, Location Intelligence, eDataBank, MyLab, Analytics and Mobile Apps.
In view of the changes in the economic structure within the country and globally, as well as the rapid development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), a study was conducted in 2018 to improve and enhance StatsDW Phase 1. In March 2019, DOSM plans to develop StatsDW Phase II with the aim of providing a gateway to access the entire DOSM data on an interactive platform. StatsDW is ready to serve the data demands of the government and the public. This national level platform is aligned with the requirements of global initiatives such as the 2030 Agenda: SDGs and Wawasan Kemakmuran Bersama (WKB2030).
